Dianthus pavonius originates from the European alpine region. 

Award of Garden Merit (A.G.M.) from the Royal Horticultural Society

Dianthus pavonius has pale to purplish-red, flowers on a short stem.  Green cushion-forming foliage.

Flowers mid summer.

Grows 5cm / 2" tall. It is ideal for rock gardens and alpine troughs.

Dianthus love to be planted in free draining alkaline soils in a nice sunny spot.
