CARING FOR
Alpine plants
Please ensure that your plants are given a light watering before planting out.
Alpine plants love to be planted in a free draining soil. They can also be grown in pots and raised beds by spreading a 5cm layer of grit on top and dig it into the top 10cm of soil.
Many alpine plants will also thrive in cool, confined space between crevices of rock and in stone walls.
Alpine plants are generally, very hardy plants that can tolerate temperatures down to -20c.
There are many varieties of alpine plants. Some like to be planted in full sun, some shade and some part shade. Check on each varieties recommended position before planting.
Once you’ve planted your alpine plant, water it thoroughly.
Most alpine plants flower in spring and early summer in the U.K. If you deadhead plants after they finish flowering then some alpines will re flower later in the year.
