Zaluzianskya ovata 'Star Balsam' is commonly known as 'Night Scented Phlox' and is native to South Africa. It is classed as a tender plant and grows well in coastal areas. Whilst this plant is not technically an alpine, we would recommend planting this at the back of a rockery.
Night scented phlox produces creamy white flowers which are a dramatic crimson on the petal reverse. The plant has a vanilla - almond evening scent throughout the summer.
